Dogfish (Squalus acanthias), a member of the class Chondrichthyes, also known as cartilaginous fish
The dogfish features a distinct vertebral column and a skeleton made of cartilage. Notable traits include polyphyodont teeth, which continuously grow throughout its life, and a large oily liver that aids in buoyancy.
The respiratory system consists of five gill slits, and its circulatory system is single-looped, with one atrium and one ventricle.
